what was for supper last night

well, since you asked

last night`s nourishment consisted of some lovely fresh ダイエイー sushi and sashimi, washed down by some Sapporo Royce Valentine`s Day Bitter Chocolate Beer...

which was not quite as delightful as the name might suggest.

as demonstrated before, I am willing to, pretty much, ingest anything in the name of research (within reason, mind you.)

I think it`s because I went to boarding school for five years and as a result of that, am in proud posession of a strong stomch and the belief that, covered in tomato sauce (what do you call tomato sauce in American again?? Ketchup?) anything can be delicious.

Alas, alack, I didn`t like the chocolate beer. Maybe it`s because I have only recently acquired a taste for beer or maybe it`s because it wasn`t meant to be drunk coupled with salmon sashimi... whatever the reason, I`m sad that I didn`t like it because the can and the packaging was so pretty. I hate it when something is superbly enticing on the outside, but the inside fails to live up to the hype...

{that could be a very deep metaphor for life. I will let you decide}

Anyway, nobody can fault Sapporo Beer and Royce Chocolate for trying. It was a nice idea. And I am sure someone out there appreciated it. And I hope that that someone calls me so I can give them the other 3 cans I have in my fridge.
Because I don`t think I can drink another one.

Like the new Sherlock Holmes movie, IMO.

What's the proper Japanese sushi like in comparison to the SA version of it? Went on a such course with a proper Japanese chef recently and he told us all sorts of differences. Like the fact that we use wasabi paste, which is apparently not proper.

Wow, the ad of the beer looks really enticing... What a shame it wasn't that good : ) What is the difference between: sushi and sashimi? I'm sorry I'm such an ignorant... : )

Chocolate Bitter? What nonsense is this? Chocolate Stout is rather good (smoother than normal stout) but Chocolate Bitter? Foolish Japanese peoples.
