No? Me neither.
But yesterday I went to buy my New York Times from the bookstore near 札幌駅 and i was walking through the massive manga section when i saw this book -
and i thought `that dude looks like Jesus`. Well, it was. And in the new bestselling Japanese comic book called Saint Young Men, Jesus shares a lovely spacious apartment with his best friend Buddha (the one holding the man bag) and they do things like go to Disneyland and the public pool and battle with rush hour trains.
Remember the ex number one Hitler manga i told you about (here)? Well, this is the new # 1... Jesus and Buddha beat Hitler. Good times.P.S. it has rave reviews and supposedly makes a valid social point about religion and its apparent insignificance in Japanese society... how people, in the comic book, think `Jesus is Johnny Depp and Buddha is a weird guy with a button on his head`.

Jesus- Johnny Depp : ) I like it! I'm not enthousiastic about the idea of this book.. but at the same time I'm curious! :) Read it and review it for us, Sarah! : )

Hi Random browsing brought me to your blog. I've read Saint Young Men about a year ago and I couldn't stop laughing all throughout it. It's a really fun read, and gives you a really funny insight on how Jesus and Buddha are as "normal" guys. Not for the too serious about religion type of people though haha. Enjoy!
